Product Description
FT1211-2-1 Potchuck for Aeroquip FT1211 Dogleg Assembly Machine
The potchuck is used to assemble and disassemble a variety of straight and elbow fittings. It affords the strongest method of gripping fitting hex surfaces in comparison to any other attachments or the machine vises. For this reason it is recommended for most large fittings disassembly, assembly of high pressure fittings, and other high torque requirements.
INSTALLATION
The potchuck is the heaviest of all attachments for this machine and careful lifting practices should be used when handling this item. The swing bolt should be securely tightened when handling this attachment to prevent unexpected opening of the hinged clamp when handling. A wooden support block is provided for installation. Place the support block between the carriage rails on the machine with the curved portion on top. Now the potchuck can be set in the support block with the hexagonal tongue towards the rotating machine vise. Slide the potchuck into the vise and tighten the vise while aligning the pin on the hex with the holes in the vise. Tighten the vise securely on the hex.
OPERATE THE POTCHUCK ONLY IN LOW GEAR. ALWAYS ENSURE THE SWING BOLT IS SECURELY IN PLACE AND TIGHT BEFORE OPERATING THE MACHINE. NEVER START THE MACHINE WITH THE TEE WRENCH ON THE SWING BOLT.
TOOLING
The potchuck has two opposing jaws. Each jaw has two gripping “V” notches, one on each end. The small notches are used to grip fitting hexes 1 ¾ inch and smaller. The jaws must be removed, turned upside down, and reinstalled to utilize the larger notched surfaces for fittings 1 3/4 inch and larger.
